Bette Parties at Pure amid Tax Evasion charges!
Wow! 62 never looked so good! Bette Midler opened her new show at Caesars Palace in the Colloseum last night and afterword she went to Pure Nightclub for the afterparty.Pure Nightclub was raided this week by federal authorities on charges of tax evasion. This is not a surprise as most Pure Management clubs seem to be run by very shady managers and executives. Its a amazing it took this long to get this investigation going, considering the prices at Pure are a crime! To get "europian bottle sevice" the latest insult to the club scene here, you have to pay a $500.00 deposit to reserve and then kiss a security guys butt to be let in and escort you to your booth were you will be required to pay for 4 bottles of alcohol at $ 300.00 a bottle (for $36.00 Grey Goose). Rediculous, considering there is a time limit on how long you may use the booth.

Also, the manager a person names Des, is a lunatic and is very abusive. Why this place even opened at the absolutely gorgeous new Palazzo is a complete mystery.40/40

There is good news and bad news. First the good news....thinking....thinking...wait still thinking...oh yes the facility itself as a sports lounge/club is beautiful! Very nice facility, very nice layout, color design etc. But thats about it! Thats where any and all good news about the place begins and ends. Now the bad news..First and foremost the management team is horrible! horrible! horrible! Im not saying they were supposed to be the best people i would ever encounter running a business here in my hometown of las vegas. But i have been in and out of the nightclub/restaurant industry for over 10yrs, and these people are terribly rude, ungrateful, disrespectful, spiteful, selfish, cowardly, hoodlum, rugrats! Next...this place will not last here in las vegas GUARANTEED!!! You/they/them cannot run an east coast thuggish ruggish bone venue here in las vegas with that east coast attitude. Rappers rapped about east coast..west coast shit and have died over their shit! Same is going to happen to the operating managers of this place if they stay here in las vegas. Why do you think they have metro on property every club night!?! Next...We the people of las vegas are industry workers. with industry connections so tight, that everyone knows someone who knows somone who is somone somewhere. Now she's taking her show to Vegas. The Oscar, Emmy and Grammy award winner said in a statement that she will begin a three-year, 200-show engagement May 6.
"Cher's name in one word encapsulates icon, award-winning legend, and captivating performer," said Caesars Palace President Gary Selesner. "Caesars is pleased to welcome Cher back."
"Cher at The Colosseum" is scheduled to include hit songs from her career of more than 40 years, with choreography, costumes and special effects. It is a partnership with AEG Live.
Cher will alternate performances at the 4,300-seat Colosseum with other headline acts Elton John and Bette Midler.
In December, Celine Dion ended a five-year run at the theater, which opened in 2002 as home of her show, "A New Day ...".
John, who began playing at the Colosseum in 2004 when Dion's show was dark, is now booked to play his show, "The Red Piano," through 2008. Midler's "The Showgirl Must Go On" is set to open Feb. 20 for a two-year run of 100 shows per year.

MGM Monte Carlo to reopen Feb 15
MGM Mirage officials said late Friday that the Monte Carlo, closed since Jan. 25 because of a fire atop the resort, would reopen in time for Presidents Day weekend.
Portions of the 32-story, 3,000-room Strip resort's rooftop facade were damaged by the late-morning blaze. The fire caused the evacuation of an estimated 5,000 guests and 1,000 employees and led to the temporary shutdown of Las Vegas Boulevard.
MGM Mirage moved its guests to other company resorts the day of the fire and transferred Monte Carlo reservations to other MGM Mirage properties during the past two weeks.
"After what can only be described as an incredible effort by the best team of employees and contractors in the business, the Monte Carlo family will be in place Feb. 15 to welcome guests for Presidents Day weekend," Monte Carlo President and COO Anton Nikodemus said in a statement.

Update: Katie Rees, former Miss Nevada was arrested in Las Vegas.
Rees was pulled over shortly before 3:00 AM for a traffic violation. According to Las Vegas police, when they attempted to arrest her, "she became physically aggressive towards the officer."Cops tell us they were just going to cite Rees but when she went nuclear, they took her in. FOX5 in Las Vegas broke the story.Rees was famously stripped of her crown after salacious photos surfaced, showing Rees in some interesting positions with a few other babes. Poor mixed up kid. A smile could have helped, mmmmmaybe not.
